Has this happened to anyone else?

I was wearing my 16233 yesterday, and I noticed that my skin was reen where the gold had touched my skin. There is no question as to the authenticity of my watch. I know that the center links are solid 18kt gold. This has never happened to me with any of my 16013's or my 1601. My 16613, my 18038 .. None of those have ever turned my skin green. I also noticed that my 18kt gold diamond ring was doing the same thing on my right ring finger. Again, I know the ring is real so I don't understand what is happeneing. I'm going to wear my tridor masterpiece today and see if I have a problem with my skin turning color. I recently started taking some new medications and I am wondering if those meds could be the cause of my problem.

I should also mention that I put my ring in some jewelry cleaner and it was filthy. Didn't look that way to the naked eye. I then decided to clean the bracelet of my 16233 and I was amazed at the dirt and grime that came out of the bracelet. But to be fair, this should have been happening before now if the dirt was a problem.

Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone here have any thoughts as to what could be happening?

I think 'filthy' might have something to do with it...

There are some medicines that can cause some skin discoloration; however, it should not be only when gold touches your skin! If you feel comfortable enough saying the name of the medication maybe I can help you rule that out.

This can be caused by taking medications containing sulfonamides. The dosing may be too high, or if taken with OTC supplements including copper under certain conditions.

This sounds stupid perhaps, but does your home have older copper water pipes? Your water may have some higher copper content - it could have just enough to tip the balance with a new med.

It's a real stretch but if your 18k Rolex never turned skin green before then it is a recent change I'd look into.

This does not happen to me, but it is very noticeable with my wife. Depending on what time of the month, or what it is that she has eaten, her skin becomes very discolored by her jewelry.
