That's a great choice! He can wear it with anything, whether work clothes of on the weekend. So nice of you to let him pick out a brand new one!

Sub would be my first pick, exp second. Sub is so wearable and acceptable in all circumstances. And I think it's a great thing, as long as he's the guy who will appreciate it. If you think he'll just be happy but treasure it, then he may not be ready for it to be given to him. Congrats on the accomplishment, I'm sure you are very proud.

GMT II C.....might be helpful for when he is traveling and the extra time zones can be used to track his appointments!

I want to thank you all, I took your advice. I went over and picked up my son from school. I did not tell him what we were doing. Told him we were just spending time together. I told him I needed to go to the mall, were the AD as located. Again he had no clue. We then went into the dealer and spent the next several hours looking at watches, the look on his face and the excitement in his eyes when he realized what we were doing will cherished by me for years.

Again , thank you all

I still wear it several times a month and it will always have great sentimental value to me. Offering him the choice, even if you define a range, will make it a more valued gift IMO.

That 30 year old watch looks MINT and current. You make a great selection. It's timeless. I think if you plan on keeping a watch you should go timeless - thinking about how it will look in 10 or 20 or even 30 years.
