Creme dial 16550
Does anyone know anything about the Creme dial 16550, with regards to it being a non rail dial. I've read that the rail dial is rare, but I've never seen a non rail dial - apart from mine.
Anyone in the know? 1985-88, white gold lume surrounds, non rail dial. |

Non-rail is actually more rare for this reference, from what I've read, anyway.
Personally, I find the "rail dial" hype on any Rolex reference is just that, hype. All things being equal, I would never pay more for a watch just because the chonometer wording is lined up a millimeter one way or another on the dial. I'm into visual impact on my wrist, and that has none either way. Some good info about the white 16550 on this thread: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=459841 |
