5711 5712 caseback
Please explain to me,
The 11 is a normal screwback case ,the whole watchcase out of 3pcs the middlepiece the caseback and the bezel fixed with 4screws to the middlepiece. How about the caseback of 12 ? Thanks

Same on the 5712 it's a tiny bit thicker than the 5711 but same construction.

Are you sure ? On the 11 i see the "teeth" for the opener however the 12 is smooth as silk.

You are correct, no teeth to unscrew the case back on the 5712. I don't know if it's all part of the case or there is another way to unscrew it.

i do remember them being different, 12 may be press fit?
in any case the 12 only has a 50 or 60 meter water resistance vs the 100 or so for the 11. it was certainly one of the more important factors to me. side note the screw back on the 11 is imho out of place as the original design of the nautilus was hinged and the movement was accessed in that fashion, originally i do not believe there was a removable case back and it was not see through. in contrast the AP 15202 has managed to maintain more of the original design intent while adding the see through case back. |

Yes exactly one of the reason of my question ,there s not a piece in the current Nautilus line which shares the original Genta design.regarding WR ,patek states it s limited due to the push piece correctors however those correctors are the same on the 5726 which is WR up to 120m,anyhow 60m is fine for swimming. But back to my original question how the 12 CB fit into its place?

Old topic but a short question.
Is it possible to change the from a transparant caseback to a closed caseback? Like the caseback of a daytona/submariner |

Not sure on the answer, but curious about the question and why you want to cover the movement up ? Normally the sapphire caseback is a huge positive on a high end watch. Do you also see some advantages ever to a solid metal back ?
