5711/1R Recent Grey Price Explosion?

Did the 5711/1R recently go up dramatically in price on the secondary market? I've been looking for one and checked what seemed like a month or two back and they were hovering right around 62-64k it seemed and now on chrono 24 seems almost all of them are low to mid 70's. I can get one at retail if I pair it with a 5205R (which I like but not sure how much wrist time it would get). so I'm weighing my options. Also is the stainless 5712 more desirable than a 5711R? I eventually want both but was offered the same package for this reference from AD. Just trying to make the best decision.

I believe they are trading in the low 60s for a pre-owned.

I prefer the 5711R. You shouldn't have to pair it with anything. I'd start with a search for a better AD.

In the UK the cheapest ones seem to go at around £12k over list price.

I was lucky in so much that I enquired about ordering one from my AD around 2 years ago,and was told that I could have first refusal on the next one they were allocated.I heard nothing more but reminded them what happened when I called in a few months ago and they apologised and let me have the next one around 3 weeks after my visit at RRP

I was lucky to get myself on the list for it 2 years ago. Im getting mine in Q2. Allocated to me and I'll be building up my purchase history with my AD.

If you can get the 5711R at retail I would get that over the 5712A.
Funny....2 years ago I paid 43.5K for a brand new sealed 5711R from a grey dealer. Got bored of it after a few months traded it in for a rose gold chocolate dial AP Royal Oak... regretted it big time after a few months. Put myself on the list at my AD. Got the this July for it.
They sell for like 70K brand new at grey dealers..
Wait and get it from an AD.
This baby is not going anywhere.

You had a 2 year waiting as well. I seriously think it will take that long to get from an AD. Although an expensive piece it still takes that long due to Patek's supply.

And so many people wanting to buy for a flip so the lines are through the roof.

Im buying any Pateks to keep - They're just a rare gem. I have less attachment to Rolex pieces, so if I had an excess of a Batman I'd definitely look to flip that. My collection for Rolex is nearly complete. Focused on getting the Pateks down.

Maybe before Xmas this is crossover male and female gift watch so dealer's taking their chances. US prices are as high as UK's now, here around the $70 mark.
