Rolex Daytona vs. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph

Hello Everyone,

I was recently in the market to purchase a AP Royal Oak Chronograph and went to a local AD yesterday to try it on one last time. I fell in love with the watch and as I am leaving he pulls out a white dial SS Daytona!!!!!! This is the first time I saw one in person. I was so set on the AP and now I am very confused! I know I am in a Rolex forum but what do you guys think and which would you pick? Thanks for the advice and I posted a picture of the Royal Oak Chrono.

Now that I have my Daytona, I would now select an AP.

Not a fan of any of the RO line up fine movement but just dont like the style of the watch. Not a huge fan of the modern Daytona but if I had to choose it would be the Daytona.

Not sure if you're buying new or care about depeciation if you are. If so, you'll take a much bigger hit on the AP.

This is the royal oak line. AP website states 39mm but fits more like a 42mm because of the case design. The offshore line is way to big for my wrist.

Considered it and I know the AP would take a huge hit. Daytonas seem to hold value pretty well. Either way thanks for the input!

I can get the AP at a good price so assuming that I would say its about $5500 higher than the Daytona.

I don't think the AP is near as attractive as the Daytona.

The AP is in a different category and I would choose it any day over a Daytona.

In terms of looks, the daytona looks nicer, rolex bracelet is elegant and sporty. Not a fan of the AP bracelet. AP will defenitely lose on resale value, but has the exclusivity and a better movement.

If i were you id take the daytona and pocket the 5500.
