Tudor Chronograph Big Block values?

I read another post about the Tudor submariner‘s being on fire and I agree I have a 79090 that I picked up four years ago for $800 great fine for me but just wondering I also have the Tudor Big Block doesn’t seem to be raising much in price kind of surprised

All the big blocks I’ve seen recently are selling for >$5,000 and that’s not bad for a watch from the ‘90s. They continue to climb in value

Very true they have been hovering around 4,500 to 5 for a couple of years now

I think they are slowly, but steadiliy, climbing in price.

I bought my 79170 last year (watch only), in pretty much NOS condition. for 3900 euros. I don't think you can find "anything" at that price anymore...

Prices on Tudor Subs are getting a bit ridiculous. For the asking price of a good 79090 I think you can find a decent 14060 (which I think we can all agree is a superior piece)...

I was keeping an eye on them about 2 years ago and this past November I really started to hunt for one. Great condition Big Block sets are first off, hard to come by and second, definitely increasing in price. The really good ones were in the high fives.

I ended up with a 79260 instead because it was the first mint box and papers set with the dial/bezel combo I wanted that came up. Slightly cheaper but I still paid over 5 for it.

While relatively soft on value appreciation over the past couple of years; the fact remains that they aren't making any more Tudor/Rolex Big Blocks and IMHO the future value will continue upwards albeit gradually and especially so for the better examples and full sets.
Additionally, Tudor's dramatic resurgence and the continued crazy escalation of Daytona prices coupled with the Big Block's Rolex DNA should have a favorable impact on the Big Block's future values.
I have three Big Block references that are all mint condition full sets that I intend to keep as not only great pieces to wear; but also, prudent investments.
Just my .02

This is a great point I forgot to mention. When 16520 prices were still under $10k a lot of people could afford to have a Rolex chrono in their collection. With prices of those continuing their crazy upward trend the only way into a Rolex chrono is through Tudor. And with these older ones carrying plenty of Rolex DNA I can only see them being dragged upwards by the Daytona craze.

Plus you get a date too.

Great examples, gents! Love those silver dials.

I've said for years these Big Blocks and the later era Prince chronos will rise in value and damnit one day I'll be right!

In comparison to the vintage snowflakes they are a bit soft but that creates buying opportunities that are also a blast to wear.

You could have a full compliment for the price of a Daytona.

Huge fan. I need one of these in my collection some day (hopefully sooner rather than later).

I remember back in 2014 passing on a transitional 79280 on leader/deployment at a pawnshop in Madrid...

It was in pretty decent condition, but I passed because it had Mercedes hands. Asking price was 1800 euros.

Prices of vintage Tudor chronos are creeping up.

The selling prices are most certainly going up.

Hodinkee just sold a late 80's big block with box and papers for almost $8K...

While that is on the higher side, things are looking up with these.

All stunning examples. The BB's might be more difficult to find than a Daytona C from an AD.
