WOW I had never before heard of this PATETED issue.
Before discovering this post I would have said "No way did Rolex ever produce those; they have to be fake!" Love learning all the fascinating things at this site! Thanks, everyone.

1974, could this be the last one? or replaced band?
Bobs has 1974 red sub listed:
Very good 9315 Oyster Fold-Over with 11 links, 380 end links and "error" divers extension. This bracelet has a divers extension where Rolex spelled Patented wrong, it reads “Pateted. https://www.bobswatches.com/vintage-...irst-dial.html Any thoughts or way to prove its a replacement band? TY |

Paul Altieri (Bob's) is pretty clued-up, check with him the bracelet blades as well for any date stamping eg 1/72 or A or VA or e.g. a S later service stamp. Ps - It's very possible it doesn't have a date on the blades as quite a few were in the period between qtr/yr ending, and the lettering starting (eg A/ VA ) in 76. Edit : I just went to listing. It has it states 'no stamping on blades' so the bracelet is likely correct/period....which is very circa a bracelet like Lee and David #14 and #16 earlier Good bracelet stuff here btw. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=73646
