Strap ideas for Day Date 18238?

Hi Gents and Girls

I recently bought an 18238 at a great price and while I like the blue dial (which looks far better in person), I feel the strap lets it down. I would welcome any suggestions as to what strap would look best. I have a couple of ideas but don't want to taint your opinions in any way.

Congrats on the great pick-up!

Would look smart on a brown Horween Cordovan Shell strap with end links. Blue and brown somehow look awesome together.

I’m very tempted to get one of these and couldn’t resist putting it on a suede nato strap.

Thank you for your suggestions! I think I am going to go for a dark brown lizard skin. I didn't know about the end links - I'm going to invest in a pair (they have to be custom made), but they are pricey in 18k. I googled them and they make the watch appear larger, something I need to do. It feels tiny next to my other Rolexes, see below. At one point I felt it was too small for me, and that I would change it for a Milgauss or Oyster 39, but I know it's only because I'm used to wearing 40mm.

Now, do I change the dial? They look so much better in champagne!

They do appear small, but great for a dress watch. I love them with black dial. Waiting on sale of my Big Block and then who knows.

I have to admit that the blue dial on these doesn’t do anything for me. White dial in a brown crock or leather strap makes for a really smart looking dress watch.

I’ve always liked the texture of the two piece Eulit Perlon Palma.

Gold-plated steel ones are an option if you don't want to spend too much. They look exactly the same. Smarty Jones of this parish does a good pair.

Agreed - medium or dark brown leather. I am probably going to go for lizard or croc. Now to decide which dial..

Pecan (light brown) colored alligator or lizard would look killer
