My new 4 would be... now that I wear shorts at work... don’t see the need to buy too many dress watches. Also I’ve started to go down the path of time only.

5711 a
5711 r
5167 a
5131r

I think I’ll eventually 3 of the 4 watches.

That makes sense. FN and RM are made for each other.

For a "daily beater" I think the brand is being wrongly considered.... Which Bugatti would you take to a mud bog?
A classic Rover meets the requirements of style and exclusivity for its purpose, and has comparable affordability with reasonable repair costs. Why mire a vehicle into a hole for which it was never intended to encounter? Ditto with the timepiece.

After I got 5740, I no longer want another Nautilus. I may get a dress watch later.

The last few 5711’s were the last to come

Just waiting on the blue one 1AR. Or a gold 5990. And no to a 57121R for us

Everything but lame Nautilus and Aquanaut. Would even take a truck full of Twenty-4 ladies watches before wearing such hyped watch.

My realistic current picks would include:

1) 5711a blue or white
2) 5170g black or 5170p
3) 5940r
4) 5164a (own)
5) 5296g sector dial T&Co (own)
On-deck circle: 5212a

There are other fancier, more complicated and much more expensive references, but to be honest I don’t think I would feel comfortable wearing a $100K+ watch on the regular, except for a special occasion. Not knocking those who do. You have my admiration for being able to pull it off. As for me, in the words of Inspector Harry Callahan, “A man’s got to know his limitations.”
