New new Speedmaster '57 questions

Just saw on the Omega webpage that they updated the Speedmaster '57 remake they re-introduced in 2013.

Quote:
"OMEGA's famous Speedmaster '57, first introduced in 2013, returns this year with a Master Chronometer upgrade and a slimmer profile. The new 40.5 mm collection consists of eight stainless steel models, all offering a streamlined look with iconic heritage touches and bold new colours."
Anyone know if they are available in stores yet? And what are the chances of getting a discount on them over the listed price of $8300 to $8600? I remember asking about the Moonwatch and was able to get a pretty good discount from the salesperson.

Thanks for any info.

They are in stores. I've seen a few of them but do sell quickly. I would check out Topper in Burlingame. They have a nice Omega section in their new store. I am not sure on the discount but you can usually get a bit off unless you buy from a boutique.

They really are just making their way into the wild now. The black sandwich dial has had the most availability for a while, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised with some traditional level discounts as seen over the past few years on that one - similar to what you referenced for the current Moonwatch. The blue/red/green have been MUCH harder to come by even at Omega Boutiques. I would think it will be a few more months until there is enough availability on those for any discounts at ADs.

As any owner of the blue version - couldn’t be more pleased. It really is a bit of a ‘dress’ chronograph, and the best bracelet Omega has ever made.

I just tried one on yesterday at a boutique. They had black on bracelet, black on strap, and blue on strap. I tried on the bracelet model and was really blown away by it. The best bracelet Omega has ever put out and one of the best of any brand I have tried on. Just buttery smooth and extremely comfortable. The watch itself is beautiful and well proportioned. Love the diameter and how thin it is now. If they had a green in stock I may have bought it right then and there. The blue dial looked amazing. The black sandwich dial was cool but not as striking looking as the blue.

Agreed. This is a really great release all the way around. Wears very well on the wrist for a straight lug speedy and I was dead set on the green till I saw the blue and black side by side..... Now I have no idea which. Going to be very successful for Omega I think.

I’ve had my black on bracelet since April. It was my first Omega and it’s one of my favorites in my collection. It’s really spot on. Something special about the whole package.

They are really beautiful and only beginning to arrive in stores. If I didn’t just buy a different Omega I’d be buying one.

Oh, and agreed, the bracelet is amazing!

I don't think Speedmasters should have date windows...but I recognize people want them.

For that reason I am not interested.

I like the blue and green quite a bit! Wish wr was a little better - isn’t it 30 instead of 50?

I just want Omega to give us this exact bracelet with proper endlinks for the modern 3861 Moonwatch.

Mine is stamped 50m, so classic Speedy in that regard. Would have loved for 100m, but not meant to be.

As stated in the post above I can confirm it's 50m wr. Honestly I'm fine with it. It is a racing watch after all and they aren't pretending it's a diver. I wouldn't wear it in the water, too many beautiful polished surfaces. Wouldn't want to muck it up with sand, salt, or banging the side of the pool.

I second Topper …phenomenal peeps.

That being said , they are now officially a Boutique. They have part of their store cordoned off now to fit the bill . Hopefully they can still offer competitive pricing like they always have.

That looks fantastic! I really like the color of green they used. Looks like more of an olive green vs an in-your-face tone of green.

Can you post an inside picture or two whe you get a chance. Thanks!

Totally sidetracking the thread, but someone put live pics of the green birch up - I was wrong, you were right. WOW!

It's cetainly a very subtle silver like green that is light in tone.

I would not say it is Olive at all though.....

Love the green also. Came across this photo of the green on a brown strap:

I have my eyes on the blue. These look so much better than in stock photos. They are 50M, just like other Speedys.
