(that's why I said under $15K, not $10K ) But as the speedy has a movement largely based on the Lemania CH27, who's lineage can also be seen in the Patek 3970 I think it gets the edge over the Daytona. Rolex is not much known for their movements outside their utilitarianism, which is not to be discounted, but it does not have the same beauty as the Speedy's. Yes, they ditched the column wheel, but the parallels between the 321, 861 and 1861 are all there. I also am a big believer in manual chronographs but that's just me. Not that I put much stock in such events but the Daytona was passed up for the job....
