Beater Submariner 14060M but New GMT Pepsi is a strong contender to replace perhaps both the long standing sub and explorer but won’t know til it is in hand.

Weekend F.P. Journe Chrono Bleu, it’s new to me but I am already counting it as a all time favorite.

Daily Patek 5940G PC for my most favorite case shape (5950A or 3670A would be ok in this spot as well)

I have a dress Cartier Cintree (tied for my most favorite case shape) incoming that will have to insist on a fourth item in the collection unless I go without a Rolex.

Really looking like I won’t be able to do it but I have learned the FPJ is a rockstar for me.

3 n the box +1 on the wrist, perfect :)

I’m kind of missing mine ... my 116660 that is. I may have to right that wrong. Tried the fifty fathoms again for the 3rd time this weekend ... it’s a nice watch but I think I might get tired of it

I would oh so copy you.

For me, personally, I am still learning about other watches, but definitely a dress watch from ALS would be included.

That would be brand 4 for me too, a Zeitwerk probably.

If I had to pick three right now, then I'd go with:

Rolex 16710 red/black
Rolex 116500 white
PP 5712

I wouldn't mind a PM piece, but I just prefer my Professional/Sports pieces to be in SS. I think I'd have to bump the limit to four and add a platinum DD40 with the Roman dial. I'd like to have a diver too...and my Speedy Pro...I need help!

I like these threads. As everyone else struggles to figure out what they would cut to get down to three I get to imagine what I’d buy to get to three!

If I were to pick from my current collection:

Explorer II (16570)
Omega SMPc
Milgauss

Just can't have only 3 watches... what am I going to do with my Explorer, Daytona and Omegas?

I am one third the way there. Any watch I own has to be built tough enough for daily wear in any situation.

116619 my daily smurf
118206 the platinum for biz and small will do here. I don't NEED 218206, maybe.
228235 RG w/olive dial for specials

I do love so many of the complicated pateks like the 5070, 3970, 5970 and the WG 5170 but the list I provided is for real and can happen. I like my dreams achievable.

From current ones:

Explorer II

Three is my sweet spot number... not too many, not too few, just right to vary but bond.
But my collection is way more modest...

There are other watches I'd like to get, but I'd want to keep it at three so I have to get rid of one of these. And that's the problem, I like all three.

Well, since my collection is 3 watches, I'll share what I have. Even though, I make no claims this is my ideal 3 watch collection. Just my current state.

SubC Date 116610LN
Pepsi on jubilee 16750
AP Royal Oak blue dial 15400

I'm a simple man. Will take a PP 5172 Nautilus, AP RO Diver, and a FP Journe CS.

Gives me a variety of colors and styles.

Explorer 1 covers everything to be honest.
Tudor BB when don’t want to get the Explorer too scuffed up.
Maybe 15400 as a 3rd down the line.

Disregarding cost (but not going crazy)

WG blue dial Aquanaut on rubber strap (daily)
Platona (sports/track day watch)
15400.

116520 black dial - current daily watch and only Rolex, was a special gift from my wife so it has a lot of meaning
16110LV - need a dive watch, but may go with a 5 digit sea dweller instead
Cartier Tank Cintree - dress watch, want to look at the new ones but may go vintage
