It has finally happened
Got the call in the morning that my 5711 white dial had arrived. I will get the watch tomorrow so will post some pictures.
I have mentioned my experience in another thread but will summarize here again. I became interested in the 5711 in 2016 and wanted the blue dial because of the hype. Twice passed the opportunity to purchase the white dial at a local AD in 2016. In Feb 2017, I went on a calling spree and got myself the first waiting spot for the blue dial at 2 ADs with the assurance to have the watch by June 2017. In May/June 2017, I had the chance to see both the 5712 (available for sale) and the 5711 blue (reserved for another customer) at the same local AD and realized that I liked the three models in the following order 5711 white > 5712 > 5711 blue. I reached out to the 2 ADs asking about the status of the blue dial. I was told that I had been moved down the list for existing store customers and I should probably look somewhere else. I was bitterly disappointed but did another round of calls. In July 2017, I found my current AD where I was able to put a deposit down for a white dial and the confirmation that my number 1 position will not change. I was earlier told that October 2017 for delivery but my AD never received any white dial till today. Throughout this period, the salesperson was awesome to deal with. He would always answer my texts and calls and continued to assure me that the watch would arrive soon as I started to feel frustrated in the last 2 months. So a big shout out to Michael Duch at D'Amore Jewelers. If you don't have a Patek AD, I highly recommend them. I am sure they have a waitlist right now for the Nautilus models but they are honest and uphold the ethical standards. So, it has been long 15 months but I finally get my first Patek tomorrow. |

Congrats! The piano dial Nautilus (ie. the white dial 5711) is truly a beauty. I also prefer it to the blue, as the black hour marks and the date wheel on the same color as the dial make all the difference in this model. I still prefer the 5712, but when it comes to 5711s, I am white/piano with no hesitation.
