<<<<<<Lots of Pics of my new SS GMT IIC...Canadian Style!!!>>>>>>

Hello Everyone,

Well, as some of you may know, I just purchased my very *FIRST* Rolex this past Wednesday - the SS GMT II C. When I was researching the GMT, I came across a lot of great pictures and information from others who posted theirs on TRF, and they were really helpful. So, I promised everyone that I would post a bunch of pictures on TRF by the end of the week...so here they are....I hope you guys like my amateur shots.

As some of you may or may not know, I am a Canuck, and a very proud Canadian, so I have a few shots with the Canadian money I have left (after I spent the rest on the Rolex ). I also have the standard "furry wrist" shot, which I have always laughed at when others posted theirs..., so I thought I would share one of my own. Since this fine time piece was made in Switzerland, I thought I would pay homage to the swiss, by pairing the GMT with a Wenger Swiss Army knife. Lastly, as mentioned in a previous post, my AD threw in a "Rolex" wallet for my wife, so I included a few pictures with that as well.

The GMT IIC has been great. I love the way it looks, and the ceramic bezel almost looks liquid, as it is silky smooth. I really like the larger crown, as it makes it much easier to wind the watch when needed, and change the time / date. The bracelet is very comfortable, and the new clasp is very nice and solid. I think having both polished and brushed links are a nice touch, and gives it a bit of a dressier feel. I have to admit, I was quite surprised by how light the watch is, and sometimes I have to remind myself that I even have it on. The AR coating on the cyclops is great, and the maxi dial is great to look at, and in my opinion, doesn't make the dial look too busy. The green 24hr hand and lettering is very subtle and nice to look at. Lastly, the classic "sweep" of the second-hand that Rolex is known for is just amazing to watch.

This is definitely a great watch, and I was glad that my son was there when I picked it up on Wednesday. I will be passing it on to him once he is old enough, and he will be inheriting a great watch that epitomizes swiss ingenuity, quality and craftsmanship.

Thanks again to everyone for all of their advice, tips and information (especially "The GMT Master"). TRF is a great place, and you have all been incredibly helpful and friendly.

If you are on the fence with this watch, I would highly recommend it!!!

For some reason I like your beautiful Rolex the best!

It must be the new bracelet and wide body but the GMT is the most comfortable Rolex I've worn. Prior to this one I have only had Subs. I love Rolex subs but the new GMT's wear smoother!

Canadian style!? Hah!

No pics of it on a hockey puck? Around the neck of a Molson? Sitting beside a Tim Horton's cup? Resting on top of your igloo?!

Nice pics.

Nice pics.
Well, since winter is almost over (in Ontario...) the hockey puck has been put away. Tim Horton's cup...roll-up the rim season is on, so that could be doable.

I will get a pictue with a Tragically Hip CD....that should add enough Canadiana to the pics

I have to agree about the new blue spring. It is one of the many new improvements which made me want to get this watch. Besides, I think it looks very good...for almost any occassion.

Thanks again!
