Anyone here like Metallica?

I went to see them for the first time last Sunday at Petco Park in San Diego with my son. I like a few of their songs but I'm not really a big heavy metal fan but man, they put on a good show. I had a great time.

This was from their set.

Jammed w/ Jamz many years ago. That's me introducing James Hatfield instead of Hetfield.

Hello SDRider
My name is Megan and formerly from the Omega forum.I love listening to music from the rock group Def Leppard, Poison and Linkin Park (I've got most of their albums),can't really share your passion(so Sorry!) BUT...............since you mentioned Metallica ,then I know a lovable endearing gentleman with a great sense of humour on the Omega Forum that you simply must meet.He goes by the avatar name of @Mad Dog ,really passionate about Speedmasters and a Metallica worshipper! Do not be fooled by his appearance because he is also an ex US Navy Aviator pilot and now a Captain for a Commercial Airliner.

^ some great pics there- he certainly has the right albums!

Saw them headlining Donington Monsters of Rock in 1995. Good, but way polished.

Absolutely loved them, growing up they were mostly what I listened to. Then I watched their documentary, what a bunch of whiny babies....

They were great back in the day, but like all bands they got older, fatter and more mellow.

The last album I bought was the Black album, and remember being wholly disappointed at the time, we'd waited years for a new album. It grew on me eventually, but it was the last one I ever bought.

I have everything they made including Singles, EP and Box Set until the Black Album (included). No other album after that point.

I am 42. I saw that concert when I was in HS. Soldier Field I believe. Probably one of the best I have ever seen.

Me too. Awesome stuff here. That picture of him in the pilot uniform is classic !

I read a whole book about them and saw the documentary on the trials and tribulations of Metallica. Great story and easily could've a non story the way they were going.

Excellent thread..

I like them in their earlier days with Dave Mustaine but then he went on to form Megadeth.
