I'm using my Pelikan 215...which i ATTEMPTED to grind to an Itallic nib, following the instructions posted in one of these forums.... I dont know how Itallic I really got it, considering I don't know what a real Itallic is supposed to look like, but it sure writes smoother!!

Just got my Pel M800 back from Richard Binder. I'm using it today filled with J. Herbin Poussiere de Lune.

Justin below is link to Speedball writing charts. I think chart 5 is a good example of italic writing. Notice the verying line widths as the pen nib is held at a 45 degree angle. If you got an italic nib you should see this when you write.

Looks like I have it right, albeit not too pronounced. I'm getting a slight, but noticeable variation in thickness. I just compared it to my MB (both are medium nibs) and you definitely notice the difference. I might try to grind it a bit more to see if I can get a little more variation in the line.
