New Release - Avenger Hurricane 12 Hour

I like it. I like the colors. I like the look.

But why?

WHY?

WHY?

50mm

Make this in a 40-42mm version and I would buy.

Watches shown below are actual size (more or less).

I really want to feel the "breitlight" material. There is a certain feel of quality I have to have in a luxury watch. I own a ceramic Bell & Ross and it has that quality feel but still being light weight and practically scratch proof. I get a recycled plastic look to the breitlight in the pics but I will hold judgment until I can handle one.

I've never felt it either. I'm not really interested until it is in a size 10mm smaller.

I think we'll see a smaller version of the Hurricane this year

I just bought my first Breitling a few weeks ago and I was torn between the Avenger Hurricane and the Super Avenger 2 because of the pictures on Breitling's website. After holding both in my hand I think it took me less than 5 seconds to choose the SA2. Despite the premium in price I felt like the Hurricane felt almost like a Casio G Shock (mainly the material). Im sure its a fine timekeeping instrument but I cant imagine spending $8k on a watch that feels so "Plastic" like.

See, that's what concerned me. I detest a plastic feel in a watch. Even my beater watches (that are made of plastic) like a Fenix Sapphire 3 have got to have a quality feel. I cant own a Gshock for that reason.

It doesn't bother me at all with a G shock, but I couldn't live with that material on a Breitling...

I too like the look. I too think it's way too big.

They must be losing business at a rapid rate to other companies who are sizing watches more sensibly now.

The core of their watches are 44mm and under.

Somewhat impressive, although has a rather TAWATEC/Luminox vibe

I would spend money today on a 42mm version - in either the 12H or 24H format. I do not mind the material.

Just a note, but it is not plastic, but in fact a lighter and stronger material than steel. I don't mind owning both steel and other material-based watches. If it's not your thing, that's fine - just pointing it out.

Having seen and tried on in person at the local AD, I really love the design of the 12hr as reading the 24 hour would take some getting used to. It didn't feel or look that large at 50mm, however my only concern is the material feels like air. It is literally so light you would forget your wearing a fine timepiece on your wrist. Just my 02 cents.

I want the 24 hour version, but 50mm is just too big for my taste (and I have average sized wrists).

I could deal with 47mm, though 44 would've been better... but 50? I've never had a watch that big. Ever.

12 hr version is a way to go, and I like the idea of Breitlight composite material, design is also very beautiful...just cannot understand the size...50mm...I mean, c'mon!

Yea, 44mm would easily work for everyone and still have wrist presence.

At that size, make me wonder if they care about selling the watches at all.

Looks like they are releasing this case as a new colt at a smaller size, buts it's going to be a Quartz piece. Hoping for more at Basel this year.
