+1, especially as the Black dial is even nicer and appears to be a bargain by comparison at a shade under 20k.

I tried to do a deal with them last month, my 2013 black dial 116520 for a white dial 116500, they came back with £8000 to change so I didn’t bother. Looks like it would be £9000 if I asked them today!

£5000 and I probably would have because I paid retail for my 116520 which was £7950 at the time so I could stomach that deal. I have worn it but it’s been well looked after so for the sake of a different coloured dial, a ceramic bezel and the fact that mine has been discontinued I thought I was better off keeping it.

Madness, 8 thousand more for the exact same watch with a bezel that made of cheap material and has the same movement. The movement to more wrist jewelry and less tool watch is also less appealing to me. The 116520 is the first daytona with the in-house movement, so a bit more special in my eyes. Keep you money, and your great watch.

Great point. I would have to question the wisdom of anyone that buys a SS Daytona at grey prices when they could just buy the WG!

Sometimes you buy a watch cos you like it - even if another watch is similarly priced. That’s what happened to me and I didn’t even look at the WG.
Seems the price delta is getting closer by the day and will at some point surpass the WG versions.

very nice..you picked the right one. WG scratches the most and so easily between the two metal.

There is a reason why the 500 increase values than the WG...It will be harder to sell down the road...less people have no desire for WG

Obviously we would like to pay more for a featherweight steel watch with an overcooked bezel and rather uninspiring dial versus this:

Stop, please stop the madness!

Don't own a WG currently but planning one down the line, is the abv statement true.. As in it scratches more easily than SS

Not difficult to comprehend and primarily attributed to lack of affordability.
If one can buy both watches at same price and chooses SS, specially when the SS MSRP is a third of the PM, well, as they say, a fool and his money.......yadda, yadda.

We are talking about Daytonas here. It’s the same watch except one is made out of precious metal and objectively worth more. If anyone pays more for the stainless steel version, they have more money than sense.

Not used. At least for an older 6 digit.

Of course as others have said SS might just be the new PM. Nothing says conspicuous consumption like paying +20K for less than a dollar's worth of steel! Figuring the value of a new 4130 movement is in the 5-7K range.

WG and PT prices seem to suggest that neutral colored metals are somewhat more desirable these days despite the value of the metal in the watches being similar in value.
