Having handled both Faith I would be really suprised if you find the Mozart too small. Remember as well that it was designed to work with the cap posted. That is not to say it won't without either. It's all down to individual comfort.
As I say i think you are going to find it perfect!

Heck for nearly a year I used a conway Stewart that was smaller than the Mozart with no problems whatsoever and I write around 20 pages of A4 a day!

Ian, how would one know whether a particular pen is designed to be used with the cap posted or not?

I should have made my initial post clearer . . . I was actually asking about the regular size Classique in reference to the Chopin. I know the Mozart is smaller than both. Thanks, Faith

I know folks in the pen club I go to who have literally a hundred or more bottles of ink in various shades!

After some ink madness myself I have come down to noodlers Brown which is a lovely shade of brown, Mont Blanc racing green and bordeaux and Diamine Majestic Blue.

I am looking for a nice violet (I had J.herbin's pussier de lune but found it a little pale) and am thinking of Mont Blancs, A good deep rich black and a slightly brighter green grass green than the racing green.

Everytime you mention your Chopin I miss mine a little more! It really is time I got another Mont blanc again!
Ian, I really like my MB Chopin a lot but with my newer purchases it has been delegated to end of the rotation!!!

Hi John. I think most pens are designed so that you can post them. It helps being that way as balance is a personal thing. Put simply if the cap posts in a secure way without needing force to stay on the the pen can be posted.

The Nakaya's are one make that are not designed to be posted but due to their large size that is not a problem and in fact the pen is designed that way!

With the Mozart (which I held today at my local pen shop) and Boheme both have a screw thread on the end of the barrel to screw the cap on and the pen is designed to be written with it on so as to balance the pen!

I remember that when I had my chopin the balance was much better with the cap posted. But my friend who now has it has much smaller hands and she finds it better balanced without!

Hope that helps John!

If I were in your shoes, and it was affordable, I'd grab it. Since burgundy has been d/c'd, finding new pens in that color will obviously be increasingly difficult. Moreover, their scarcity should increase their worth.

(I am disappointed as I spoke with my neighbor regarding signing for my pen. She left the house for a brief time, and missed the Fed-X delivery. I came home to find a notice on my door. There's nothing I can do until tomorrow.)

Hey Leo,

We all have to draw limits at times. Try not to feel too bad. If you still want it, I'm sure you can get it. After all, we can only write with one pen at a time! Cheers, Faith

Leo,

Great to see you! Hope things are going well for you. It's definitely disappointing but with better luck tomorrow, I should be posting pictures in approximately 24 hours! This subforum is great, isn't it?! Cheers, Faith

Thanks Ian, it does help. I've been experimenting with both methods with my Chopin, and find it comfortable to write with both ways. However, the characteristics are noticeably different. I think the pen probably is a little better balanced with the cap posted.

That is wonderful Faith.
Thank you so much for posting the pictures of this beauty. I know you are going to get a great deal of enjoyment from using it. If the CD is anything like the one that came with my Chopin you will enjoy that too. You have quite a rare pen there!

A great pen for a great Lady, Congratulations
