422. I'm not a big fan of the PR indicator on the 423.

For those that subscribe to the "Base is Ace" mindset there is no room for improvement... it's just as it should be. Adding complications & losing the plexi only detracts from the 372's perfectly executed historic intent IMHO. That being said, the 422 is a sweet looking piece but I would not want one in place of my 372.

the reason for not going with the plexi is because i hit my watches really hard sometimes

Michael, to be honest i've never measured my wrist?!? I'm a big guy 6'3 at like 260-265 right now (bodybuilder/athletic build though) so oddly enough my wrists aren't too big, I have small joints. 47mm suits me well though

In regards to banging your watch , so what? I banged my 372 the first damn day I got it and wore it home, and there wasn't a mark or anything on the plexi...

I'm only a few days into 372 ownership so no real input on the durability of plexi but Polywatch is cheap if minor scratches get to you. As for potential damage from hits, that may be a valid concern if you are hard on watches.. fortunately no experience with that yet on my end. You do get a replacement crystal though should you need it.

422

The lack of quick-change strap system on all these models puts me off though

Since you already have the girl, get the 422, since it is the one you want.

That's what this forum does to you. I started off with my GMT, joined the forum and then got a PAM 50. (I like the 40mm. It sits on my wrist better.) After that, I got an IWC... Whatever you get it will only make you happy for a day or so and then you'll be thinking about the next one! Now I'm looking for a Sub TT, Black dial... That will make me happy. But then, I'll probably have to get a Radiomir... That's it, though... Well, maybe an Omega or Breightling... Damn you, TRF!!!

plexi is more resistant to shock than sapphire. but sapphire is more resistant to scratches. I had a sapphire watch shatter on me when I clipped a metal table at work. it SUCKED

something to consider

Skip the power reserve and get the 422...as long as you've already got a 372.
