Any love here for Root Beer GMT's?

I have an E serial 16718 on a super jubilee that I bought a few years ago. This watch was the one I most desired when I first started to get interested in watches. It got a lot of wrist time when I first got it but not as much anymore. Not a lot of guys wear all gold anymore and I find myself wearing steel complicated Patek's and AP's more often. Nevertheless, whenever I feel like I should trade I can't do it. I still love it. So I was wondering if there were any other lovers of the gone but not forgotten Bronze dialed GMT in either all gold or TT?

My property manager wears one. I actually just happened to ask him about it at our meeting yesterday afternoon. First let me just say it is such a gorgeous watch. A gift from his parents when he graduated college in '74, he just had the whole thing completely restored to the tune of $6000 last year. It is the TT version, lug holes, a brand new jubilee bracelet, and shimmering chocolate nipple style dial. It is truly a grande dame from a bygone era, making it of one of the all time classiest looking Rolex sport watch references ever made in my opinion. Oh,..and he's all bummed out because he already has a scratch on the crystal.

I wouldn't say these are great pics - but it is a great Root Beer.

With the TT Jubilee

On a Sandy NATO

On a leather strap

I used to hate the colors of the Root Beer many years ago but just about 2 years ago, I had a strong desire for it. It's quite rare in the areas I travel to. If I see one in VG to Mint condition, I won't hesitate to get one. To those with Root Beers...I envy your good fortune.

I think they are awesome. They are like a portable, wearable, time capsule from the 70's. They have serious character.

I love the rootbeer. I had a nipple dial on jubilee and sold it recently. The newer style on oyster is on my to buy list.
