These stories back to back make it really hard to find a path that logically makes sense.

$9K on jewelry + a Pepsi in 6 months is a pretty good deal IMO, especially if you're in the Dallas area.

Just consider these at market price, not retail, and buy second hand. These pieces 99% of the time go to good long term clients, not even new clients after buying a datejust and breitling. You will be waiting forever, sorry to tell you

I've spent about $23K with my AD on two different watches before I got the call. They knew I kind of dreamt about one but I never asked them officially to get me one as I told them that they probably have higher priority clients to take care of first.

This particular AD was in a lower population area (Small Urban, 150kish population for the county) and my wait time for the Pepsi was 1 year since I expressed interest. The other two watches they got me in the span of a month or two.

12 month wait, $0 previous spend, Raleigh population is about half mil. County is just over a mil. Good luck to you.

I’ve bought a Daytona with zero history don’t let AD spend stop you from going down there and saying you’d like to be put on the registry for BLRO. Maybe you’ll wait a month or maybe never, and then at some point you may go grey but if you go grey and get the call after sell one and recoup the premium. I’ve done it with the Daytona.

Was it from Fink’s? They’re known to sell to their local market.

I'm not sure if it depends on spending history. Last year I spent more than 70k at my AD and still waiting for BLNR, hopefully this year miracle happens. For SS Daytona I was not even taken on the waitlist because current estimate timeline is 5+ years

What was your average spend before you received a Pepsi?

People are just vastly overpaying for a hyped watch. If they also need a diamond at some point they will also vastly overpay for that as well.

What price range diamond if you don’t mind me asking? Engagement ring?
I was looking at tennis bracelets and the prices are almost double at the local jeweler vs online.

Just reading the vast range of data points, one thing seems to stand out, if you live in a non-urban area your chances of scoring a Pepsi increase since you aren't competing with other HNW individuals.

If you factor in time, and upper and lower bound of jewelry spend, you could quickly figure out what a Pepsi on the grey market is worth to you.

Find someone that has a relationship already, and have them introduce you. My SA called me, because a buddy of mine asked him to. Got a sub basically instantly, and the Pepsi only took a few months because i live in California and the store is in Florida. I called a few weeks before i was headed to Chicago, watch was waiting for me in Florida. Honestly finding someone with an existing relationship is key. If they happen to spend a fortune, that doesn’t hurt lol.

This is an excellent point. I now need to find some whale spenders and drift off their wake :)
