It is tiresome. That’s what I’ve gleaned as well, and if that’s the case should be the best outcome.

Nice to see the gains holding up through midday.

Hoping we are now past the correction from the last couple weeks, though volatility will probably remain up through the election.

DKNG popping on news of its partnership with ESPN. TSLA popping because.

Curious to see what comes from AAPL tomorrow.

Dow Futures, Apple, Nikola, FedEx - 5 Things You Must Know Tuesday

https://www.thestreet.com/markets/5-...tuesday-091520

Lots of things moving this week, AAPL event, TSLA battery day coming up, MMM beat earnings, ADBE reporting tonight

I am wary of a run back to the highs as the fundamentals have not changed. Watching several trades and IPO's at this point

AAPL and TSLA events could play big here, and I'm very interested in both as a shareholder.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/th...S%3D1600169988

Been seeing a lot of S&P targets in the 3,500-3,700 range lately, which I don't disagree with - my opinion on a bull market hasn't change, though we will still see that volatility throughout election season.

Also seeing active M&As and while I don't really like to quote Cramer, he does bring up the fact that this tends to mean industries are realizing value in current prices - which I also don't disagree with.

Nothing necessarily new, but still some good points to keep in mind from the recent selloff.

Yes - I entered at $139 last week, so this is a nice, quick rise.

It's about the 4th time I've started a position in SQ with long-term intentions...actually hoping to stay true this time!

I picked up Square on the selloff, too, certainly a solid bounce and welcome as a few other positions of mine are not doing as well...

I am long SQ and think this is a longer term story. The shift toward electronic payments will continue and they are well positioned. I am long PYPL as well

I agree that turmoil / volatility is here, but I'm also a bull that expects us to come out on top long-term (6 months, 1 yr, etc.).

I'm 36, and still consider myself young and spritely - so much so that preservation of capital isn't really in the cards for me; I want growth.

Currently in 10 stocks, all of which are big tech / tech with high growth potential BUT also outstanding fundamentals (IMO). I will not be getting out of the market, though I'm also not dumping hordes of cash into the market on every dip. I am more watchful with how I deploy the cash, but trust me, it is getting deployed.

I love reading this thread, but call me that boring guy who is a Bogle-head and believes in the Vanguard-mantra: “you can’t control the market, but you can control your costs.”

I am aggressively conservative - by that I mean I’m 100% in equities, but not in single stocks.

nothing boring about that IMO... I like investing in individual stocks but my equity position is 2/3 in ETFs/mutual funds.

Let me also clarify my position - 50% of our investments are in stocks and I ACTIVELY manage those; it's that part of our portfolio that I discuss on a daily basis here.

The other 50% of our funds are in mutual funds / IRA / etc., of which I do not manage and just let grow passively.

So when I say I'm 100% invested in equities with no cash holding, I'm really talking about only half of our investments, if that makes sense.

Thinking of deleveraging some of my position in TSLA. Not sure to do it before or shortly after battery day.

Nothing wrong with that at all.

In my case most of our portfolios are in Mutual Funds.

The trades I discuss here are in two trading accounts with what I consider "play money". In total these two accounts are about 10% of our total investable assets

Single stocks increase risk and increase reward. I like doing research as I feel it helps me see the markets better as a whole.

More expansion for AMZN and e-commerce.

FB down on anti-trust issues, though this is nothing new - has been looming for the past several months and it really has not derailed the stock.

Sold out of half of my AAPL position after market close yesterday; could still see plenty of volatility throughout the fall and I've never been a huge Apple guy, but bought in during the stock split announcement.

A colleague is a huge devotee of Apple products. I asked him if he owned Apple stock. He looked at the ground and sheepishly said no.

Well that is his loss.

Part of investing and stock ownership is buying what you know. In this case he seems to believe in the company and the products but yet he does not want to own part of it?

Many people approach investing with a bias toward fear and losing their money. Yet they have no problem with the sunk cost of hardware, subscription services and upgrades.

Long time lurker and thank you all for the helpful tips and discussions here. It has really helped me a lot to build my portfolio and I’ve seen some nice gains as a result.

Im curious to know why APPS jumped yesterday and today?

Bearish outlook here from Blackstone, which I understand but don't necessarily agree with.

I just saw this and am wondering the same. Lots of volume, too. Hm.

DKNG up big on a deal with the New York Giants, which I haven't had a chance yet to look into.

Question: I been hearing about buying gold now with the economy. I'm not finance expert, but should I pick up some gold? Would collectibles be even better (rolex, sportscards, comic books)?
