StrapCode Bracelet For My Red Sub

So I wanted to give my old folded 9315 bracelet a rest and fancied something different
I really liked the look of this Strapcode Vintage RX and when it turned up I wasn't disappointed
The fit is excellent here is a video review I did of it if your interested

Link works now.

Nice video. Bracelet looks OK.

Some people frown on aftermarket bracelets, but if a leather aftermarket or a NATO is OK, then it follows that a steel one is OK too, as long as you retain the original bracelet.

The end links could be a bit more Rolex-y, though. Personally I'd save my pennies and get a genuine Rolex Jubilee when funds allow, but this aftermarket is good in the meantime.

Thanks for this. I’ve thought a few times about picking up their oyster version for my 1680. I love their brackets on my seiko - comfortable and solid).

My concern, however, is about the solid end links rubbing (erasing) the serial/reference between the lugs. Thoughts anyone?

There really aren’t a lot of reviews about these bracelets, so I appreciate you taking the time.

I didn't think about that but I'm pretty sure it won't do any harm as some other brands have there serial numbers there and have solid end links

Because I can :) and because my old 9315 bracelet doesn't feel as solid as I'd like
on a watch costing as much as it does now
If it was a 93150 like on my DRSD I maybe wouldn't of changed it as that bracelet feels substantial as you can see in the photo

The strap code to me is an improvement on the old jubilee and keeps the vintage look no polishing just brushed solid end links which fit spot on
I wouldn't normally go with a jubilee on a sub but a vintage one it works I feel

I don't know, personally I can't see wearing a nice 1680 on a bracelet like that. There's nothing wrong with it, but if you're accustomed to seeing authentic bracelets, it's just so obviously fake looking, even if the quality is good. The end-links are particularly bad IMO. If your 9315 isn't working for you, maybe you should pick up a more modern Rolex bracelet.

Looks great! Great way to preserve the original bracelet.

I have an aftermarket jubilee on my 1978 Tudor OysterDate. My original C&I Rolex stamped Rivet Bracelet is in the safe. Can't wait to break out the leather straps during cooler weather for it

The only other Rolex bracelet I'd fit would be a 93150 like I have on my DRSD But I don't fancy paying out £1500 for another one
I really like the Strapcode and it's SEL which fit so well or I guess
I could just fit a £5 NATO and look like all the others but I like something different

A little piece of tape over the SN goes a long way towards protection. I do it on all my 4 digit stuff. The rattly hollow links don’t do the SNs any favors either lol

Ask your AD for one and see what price he quotes and if he can get you one (oyster or jubilee). I paid 1100 euro for the jubilee for my 1675, straight from my AD. Old style clasp and everything. Doesn't get better than that.

You aren't losing the money you are spending. Plus come on, look at your collection and how much it's worth. And you aren't willing to spend 1-2k euro on an original Rolex bracelet.

You won't lose any money invested in an authentic bracelet. And they are super easy to sell.

I think it looks nice! But, like has been said, the endlinks meh. Original bracelets are just super-expensive, so I do think this is a great alternative to original. Fact: The chances of you running into a WIS that is not in an actual watch store or employed by one are slim to none. Living in LA I always assumed I would see tons of Rolex. Not so much. Lots of Apple watches (Ugly, but I suppose they do have their appeal…) but not many Rolex. I'm sure this comes down to profession as well (marketing for an IT Equipment reseller). Those I do see, I would never be able to determine if all parts are correct without a close examination. Not to mention all teh homage watches out there. I had some guy ask me about my "Rolex" I was wearing, it was a Seiko…with a strapcode BTW that looks like an SS Presidential bracelet (no hidden clasp). Replacement Oyster bracelet for my TT 1675 was quoted by Rolex at $3800 (with tax about $4100). That said they did offer a $150 discount if I turned in my original oval-link TT Jubilee I just had rebuilt by Rolliworks some 6 months prior. It was still deemed too fragile by Rolex (That's French in the world of Rolex). I don't plan on spending 4K for another freaking bracelet but for the true collector, for which this site was made, you will definitely get blow-back on your non-original addition. Plus, the expenditure to many here is paltry with a lot of 1%s that can afford the very best life has to offer. Concentrating on my teenage kids at the moment and working to ensure they can experience the very best that life has to offer. Cheers all! Looks sharp!

I do have the authentic 9315 bracelet for the watch but I just wanted something more secure and at the min I'm not in a position to spend that amount of money and another bracelet and I like something different to the norm

I was quoted 1,500 CAD for the 93150 from Rolex directly.

Got a clasp-type Jubilee from my AD three years ago for around 900 USD. Not prohibitive if you can afford a 1680 Red and a DRSD.

I think the end links on the oyster looks better, but it’s not very Rolexy...but that’s sort of the point. They’re not looking to make a 16800 replica. In fact, it’s pretty funny the lengths they go to to avoid mentioning “Rolex” or “Submariner.” Our favourite watch brand can be quite litigious, which I think is great for keeping fakes at bay but they go too far sometimes (see the La Californienne fiasco).

All I know is that my Strapcode jubilee on my Seiko is extremely strong and comfortable. I may consider one of these at some point but I love my 9315...

Because of the VW diesel scandal and Brexit I've only worked 3.5 months in the last 2 years and cant see my trade picking up anytime soon plus Covid 19 hasn't helped either.
I was lucky and picked my Red Sub up 7 years ago when they were cheap at only a 3rd of the price they are now

Bazza,

Will that Strapcode band fit my old GMT 1675? My particular GMT is 1971 vintage and had a rivet band, but it seems too fragile for everyday use.

I would like to get a Strapcode for everyday use and keep the rivet band in the safe.

Thank you in advance.

Newbie here, so thank everyone on this forum.
