Montblanc watches thread

Hi all,

Montblanc are making some nice watches these days and seem to be becoming more and more popular. I am big fan of the brand in particular their pens, money clips and cufflinks and the watches are not bad either!

Here is my one and only Montblanc watch: Star Automatic Date 39mm. Please do share yours!

I’m a huge FP buff (where MB occupies the same position as Rolex - immense history and marketing muscle and, for many and despite much competition, defines the mass luxury space), and so it was with some ire that I watched MB pivot into, first, leather goods, and then watches. I must admit though that their timepieces are of very high quality and retail at a very attractive price point.

Love your watch. Don’t have one but love their Orbis terrarium world time. There is a Montblanc boutique nearby and I have periodically stopped in (it’s in a mall and just stop in when wife at some store I’m not as keen on lol)...very friendly folks but their reps have zero knowledge of watches, and freely admit it. Would be nice if they were able to teach me some stuff as I’d love to know more.

I've always considered (although never pulled the trigger) the timewalker manufacture panda with ceramic bezel. That along with other MB in-house movements are made/assembled in the acquired Minerva factory, which has plenty of horological history.

There are some montblanc watches that I really like aesthetically. Technically I think they share a lot with JLC and other richemont brands as well. Can’t get past the brand making anything but pens though. I know I’m a snob.

Bought two recently. Not everyone's cup of tea, but at least I have another flyback and full perpetual in my collection at a competitive.

Gorgeous perpetual! I am recently drooling over this one, as well.

I do appreciate many of the recent offerings with Minerva heritage styling.
In sync with what Longines is attempting (but always misses the mark with their fauxtina), yet extremely tasteful to my eyes.

I owned a Rieussec and it was a very nice piece. Some of the Minerva manual chronos they've made are things of beauty.

I really like the looks of most Montblanc watches and the quality is good, although the Selita movements are not as robust compared to ETAs, according to my watchmaker. The Minerva movements are especially gorgeous and real values, considering they are in the same league with Lange, VC, Journe, and Patek in terms of finishing.

And this is my Montblanc 112515, a simple and proven Peseux 7001 caliber.

Montblanc watches thread

So I have used Montblanc pens for decades. Never considered them to be a watch manufacturer. However, for the last few years I have been wanting an automatic alarm watch with a black dial. The Montblanc Star Reveil Alarm 7026 fit the bill. I bought a slightly used one last night.
