"If you want accuracy buy a $10 Casio" - not this time

Hi guys - Ive noticed something amusing related to the classic idea that a $10 quartz watch will be more accurate than a Rolex or any other mechanical watch.

I recently bought a Casio W59 (basically a Casio F91 but with 50m water resist and an increased price of $16) and its actually LESS accurate than my 126200 DJ 36. I dont have a timegrapher but I like to compare my watches to an online atomic clock to get a general idea of how they run. The DJ is about .5 seconds fast per day and the Casio is actually about 1 second fast per day.

Obviously this is just a 2 watch example and both watches are so accurate it doesnt matter, but now when I see the "just buy a $10 Casio" line Ive been smiling and thinking "Well I bought a $16 Casio and my DJ is more accurate".

Note: this is not knocking Casio. I love Casio watches, I think they have iconic designs and offer amazing bang per buck.
