I bought a Rotary:opinions pls

As per the title, I bought myself a Rotary watch. I was/am after a watch that I can wear as an alternative to my Rolex. I want an everyday, elegant timepiece, with a classic look on a black leather strap.

Whilst the Rotary does tick the box, it does nothing else! My wife hates it, says it's far too small and feminine looking for my wrist. I think she is right, and I plan on sending it back, what do you guys think?

Does anyone have any suggestions on alternatives? The Rotary was < $100, however, I'm flexible on budget and would happily spend solid dollars for the right watch. I just want a clean looking elegant piece, not a Rolex, but another alternative understated brand.

I also bought a different brand of watch.
Don’t know why, I have only worn it for an hour or so, and end up having to put my Exy back on, so despite being cheap, it was a waste of money.
Does look fairly nice though.

I don’t think it looks too small, but doesn’t do anything for me.

What price range are you thinking , and quartz or mechanical? That would be helpful to narrow things down a bit

The Rotary doesn't look too small on your wrist shots. If anything the Sea Dweller seems rather large on the pics... If I ever get a Rolex it will be the 116600.

The Rotary definitely does not look too small on your wrist. While it's not the greatest watch in the world, it looks fine as a dress watch for the money. If you want something else, you might want to clarify what it is you want and what "solid dollars" means because that differs from individual to individual.

oh absolutely agree. for less than $100 that watch is great. if the OP is having trouble with his wife approving and he doesn't mind spending more then take her along shopping so she can point at what looks ok to her. however for the price paid for the rotary i would be a big boy and just keep it too. why inconvenience the seller over it by sending it back?

Not too small - dress watches should not be in your face tin cans.

Thank you all for the responses. I must say, in the photos the watch appears larger, but in the flesh, it was indeed rather too small. I have sent it back and will purchase an alternative. A £500-£1000 budget is itching to be spent! I will have a look a the suggestions above, some nice looking pieces in there. Thanks all.
