There were surveys done a few years ago that although many people loved some funny commercials, they could not remember and name the product that was advertised. So there is a fine line between entertaining you and having you remember and buy the product.

I often think that they actually try to make commercials annoying to generate an emotional response from people so they will remember the product.

That being said I rarely see them anymore as I record almost everything I watch.

Exactly why they often use awful music jingles ... unforgettable

I agree. Anything medical/drug related is the worst.

What gets me is when they list the “possible” side effects of the medicine and it’s about 100 (GOD-awful) things; I think I’d rather have the disease.

I’m in the car business. After Hurricane Sandy hit, we had well over 100 clients from Hoboken, NJ whose cars were flooded, back on the road in new cars and Allstate hadn’t even been in to survey the damage yet. Had a friend who lost a massive tree during the same storm that hit her house. Took them over a year to settle. No thanks.
