78360 Bracelet w/ no date code
Hey guys! Wanted to run this by the experts on here. I recently made a deal on a 78360 bracelet from a very reputable source that has no date code on the clasp.
He’s been great to work with and provided an explanation that Rolex didn’t mark the clasps in the mid 70’s when these bracelets came out. He’s offered to replace the bracelet (stand up guy), but I would rather just keep it and keep rolling. For my own peace of mind, could anyone corroborate this info? I'm skeptical of this story. The folded link 7836 bracelets were made until 1975 and replaced with the 78360 in 1976, which bear clasp code "A" or sometimes "VA". Perhaps what you have is a cobbled together braclet? 78360 links with a 7836 clasp? Just a thought...
