Sure, as long as there's Casio and Timex then there's absolutely no need for Rolex. Desire yes, but certainly no need whatsoever.

If I had too in order to take care of my family, I could, but I'd be back into it as soon as the Financial situation got better. How could you ever loose the desire for a Rolex?

Would never want to be without my GMT. Of the oysters in my modest collection, the GMT II is one I could never give up.

good question... the materialist in me says no way, not anytime soon. their too fun! but the mystic in me says that no inanimate possession should ever have too great a significance in my life.

i could do without one no problem and i'd part with mine in a second if financial necessity dictated such a course of action. to me it's just a watch, and not a major source of happiness.

I have owned a few cars in my life. In time I tend to grow tired of them and sell them for some other auto which catches my eye. My Rolex watches I don't sell and I love collecting them. I can do without certain cars. I can not do without my personal choice Rolex watches.

If my family ever fell on hard times, I could drop my watches in a second to pay for more important things for my family. Rolex is nice but in the grand scheme of everything its only a watch.

Had one off and on for years just like my Harley. Could I live w/o one ? Sure, I have. As I've grown older I've gone back to a basic no date sub on a NATO strap. My '09 Road Glide is about to go for a basic black Heritage softail. Due to health issues, my touring days are over.

I have 8 Rolexes because Life is good to me right now. However, everyone has good/bad times and I am sure that I will have to sell some (if not all) down the road. I hope to be able to give them all to my 2 kids when I am gone, but if I had to sell them to buy the essentials of life..............I could live with that.

If something catastrophic were to happen and it came down to my Rolex or my family surviving, the Rolex is history. But as long as my wife and I are financially comfortable, I can not imagine being without at least one Rolex. I just really enjoy them.

It would not be a problem for me as my EXPII gets less wrist time than any in my collection.
As a matter of fact, it may be replaced in the near future. Fr. John† |

No. I went through an Omega period in between Rolex's. I was never happy. Only people on this forum would understand.
