I’ve been a Rolex owner for about twenty-five years. When I first got to TRF around 2015 there was a lot of Panerai abuse over on the Rolex General Discussion Forum. This chatter was integral in the opinions I formed about Panerai even though I’d never encountered one in person. Fast forward to 2021 and I saw a PAM 111 in a Rolex AD of all places. I was transfixed. It took me about twenty-four hours to realize that I needed it and now it is an absolute favorite, so much so that I bought two more Luminor Marinas. I still have Rolexes and don’t prefer either brand or rather I prefer them both equally for different reasons.

Since I saw the pic above I’ve been googling 233’s. Regardless of what’s going on with the brand, they are unique.

You will love that one. It’s bread and butter of the brand. Has all the boxes checked for Panerai

The 233 checks a lot of boxes for me. If I had to only have one Panerai it would probably be the 233.

I do think Rolex makes a fantastic watch if you can buy it at the recommended retail price.

There just aren’t any models you can get at retail that offer me anywhere close to the feeling I have when I wear my Panerai. I find myself wearing my 992 more and more and certainly have started looking at another 45mm 8-day radiomir as my next watch.
