...I bought my first Rolex, my 116610 LN.
I never thought about buying a Rolex until then. For a very long time I was fascinated by mechanical watches and already at a quite young age I always wanted to own a Tag Heuer Carrera for some reason. In April 2012 I went to my local AD to have a closer look and after a long chat with their watchmaker on different references I tried on the GMT Master he was wearing. I was fascinated and when I left the store two hours later I had placed an order for a SubC Date and was told it´d take around 3 months for it to arrive. Already one week later I´ve got the call. First time buyer, no relationship with this AD, asked politely for a discount and got 7% off. Not polished, not serviced, still looking great and keeping perfect time. |

Really nice, thanks for sharing.
It will be my 10 year anniversary next year. My first Rolex, the LVC, the ugly duckling, sitting in the shop window, 12% discount for me. Still love it just as much today as back then. |

Best looking Rolex I've ever handled. Everything has come and gone at this point except the Hulk.

Congrats, OP. Your story is similar to mine, except I'm coming up on 5 years with my 116610LN. I received a Tag Carrera as a wedding gift from my lovely wife, then SubDate for our 10 year anniversary. I've since added a couple more pieces with sentimental value, but the Fat Boy will always be closest to my heart.

I also bought my first Subc in 2012 and got a little discount too. Great watch and great times indeed.

I still remember when I purchased my first Subdate in 2011. It was my only Rolex for many years and a much simpler time.
