Planet Ocean 39,5mm ceramic
Just came by this watch on Omega's website. I thought the ceramic PO was only available in the big 46mm version.
This one is 39,5mm wide by 14,1mm thick. What a cool piece! I wonder what the material used for the crowns and bezel assembly is (Ti, maybe?), as there is no mention on the site. |

Huh. Didnt even know this existed. Haven’t come across one article or have any omega boutique salesperson mention anything. You’d figure this would be more advertised.

Right?! It's also listed as a "ladies watch".

Haha. Strange times when 39.5mm is a "ladies watch".
I guess I should stop wearing my ck2998 as well.

I love the new 39.5mm Planet Oceans. It’s that or 43.5, which is too big for me. Pretty cool that they are the same price.

Smitten with this one, but I can't find info on the crowns' and bezel assembly's material anywhere. Aside from the video speedmaster posted, these are the only real photos of the watch I came accross (from jomashop's website).
Looks to be Ti, but not sure. |

I owned the 39.5mm PO (14mm thickness); very nice watch indeed but sold it as already had a dive watch with my submariner (16610)

Had the normal version a few years back. While the primary reason I bought was they finally made one that would fit me - I actually felt the thickness to dial size was off. It wore too small for me. This black version looks awesome but I can’t get excited for this reason

I felt the standard steel 39.5 PO is a bit wonky in size (they all are, actually). Because it's as tall as my MM300 but smaller than my GMT, it feels a bit top heavy. I tried it on one of the rubber straps, so it was adjusted to me fine. I actually liked the 43.5 a little more, plus that one has the 8900 with the independent hour hand.
But if I were going down the PO road again, I think I would just pick up the old 2201.50 first gen PO with the 2500 movement. It's the thinnest and best-fitting for my wrist. OP, it looks like the bezel and crown are titanium. I would say possibly some form of treated/hardened steel, but I've never seen Omega use that process, so I'd assume Ti. |

I still think the 2500 movements wear better and more balanced.

I'm curious regarding some of the comments on the thickness, as this one is 14,1mm thick and 39,5mm in diameter.
I have (and love) a Sd4k, which is 15.5mm thick and 40mm in diameter, so had imagined this PO would wear great, although I admittedly haven't tried it on. Is there anything I'm missing on this front that the numbers don't tell? |

This is what I have for the SD. It's a great piece, but certainly not thin. |

Thanks Kaue, very interesting. I would say the POs do feel thick, but the CE may mitigate against that with its stealth, but ofc you have to try these on to really know. I'm thinking about the 43.5 PO with quarter orange myself.

A quick update: in the end, I wrote to Omega, and they replied the following:
"We thank you for your message and your interest in OMEGA. Following your request, we are pleased to inform you that the crown, the bezel and the case back are made of titanium. We hope to have been helpful to you and remain, with kind regards, Your OMEGA team." So Ti it is. The only thing that has me puzzled with that reply is the reference to the case back... |

Was hoping to find a thread like this! I'm also smitten with this piece but not much info out there. I was able to try on the brown version at my Omega Boutique... one of the most comfortable watches my 15.5 cm wrist has worn in quite some time..
I suspect that was a typo from Omega. Even though they're a little different, old press releases on the bigger brothers in the "Deep Black" collection are listed with "Naiad Lock ceramic [ZrO2] caseback with chromium nitride marks." I do wish they had made the strap in the sailcloth style pattern of the larger models, not to keen on the quilt. |

I own a PO Deep Black and was a little bummed when I heard of this one because I thought the smaller size would look better on me with 6.5 wrists. But I was a little underwhelmed after I tried it on. Maybe it’s because I’m used to the size of the DB but it didn’t look right on me.
