Vacheron Cornes de Vache now in Stainless Steel

This is a watch I've long admired, now offered in SS for 40k. With VC's typical discounts, this will be a heavy contender.

Yup, just saw that. Smart move by VC. I’ve always liked this watch but I have reservations about the lugs. Pretty cool but I have a feeling I may tire of it.

Not sure if I like where VC is going with this watch, sort of watering down the PM variants.

Saw this as well. One of many smart moves VC have been making as of late.
Will be interesting to see how the AD discounts and grey prices (when it hits the secondary market) play out. Much like you Kaue, I'll be avidly watching.

Well that is a gorgeous watch! I like everything about it and have always been a fan of the "horn" lugs. Like you all, I will be awaiting what happens when these hit the market.

i love this...and was sorely disappointed when they made the SS version only available in the hodinkee edition a few years back...so absolutely thrilled with this release.

my only gripe is that i REALLY wish they made the chrono numerals in blue (to match the chrono hands) and the minute numerals in black. don’t like the red, too much of a distraction.

Agree, not the biggest fan of red here. Would've liked to see them in grey.

I don't see your point as the same watch was already released in steel back in 2017.
Also to this point it is clearly a trend many brands have to follow in order to compete, even the strong like Patek with it's recent ss calatrava.

I agree that it is a trend among many brands to bring a model to market at a better price point. However, this needs to be balanced with how you treat your existing customers of those same models. A small limited edition doesn’t strike me as a betrayal of the Platinum customers, but now a permanent steel model doesn’t show good faith.

Big fan of the Cornes de Vache reissue, so a steel version that makes it more accessible is a huge win in my eyes...good move by VC!

After looking at the new model and comparing pics with the platinum version, I still prefer the latter, but it's become harder to justify the leap in price.

Here's the question that no one is asking: This VC or that new $48k Omega!

Yes, I think I would give an edge to the dial the dial of the platinum over the steel, plus of course the luxurious feeling of the platinum case on the wrist. Both of those points warrant a premium for the platinum version, but the eternal question for each person is what level is justifiable.

I've seen the platinum version being sold in used/mint condition for high-mid 40's by reputable grey dealers, so unless a substantial discount is obtained for the SS version, it becomes a no brainer. We have yet to see where second hand prices will land for the SS, though.

Lol.The VC trumps that Omega easily. Omega is priced too high by at least $20k.

IMO a great illustration of why the ALS 1815 chronograph (at market price) is by far, FAR, the best high end chronograph buy in this price bracket.

As for upsetting collectors, I have talked to three of them. Each one praised VC. And for what it is worth, I have three VC watches and will buy another next year. Now whether that makes me a collector or not, I think offering the watch in SS is a great move.

VC isn’t the only one. Rolex did same with SkyDweller and GMT. This is purely a market move and it does make sense. The dials will be the differentiator.
