Never have my watch noticed... except at drive thru

I never get comments on my watches. I usually wear short sleeves, but most people don't care or notice my Rolex. I am 100% fine with it, as I generally don't like to draw attention to myself. What does surprise me is that the guys working the drive thru windows seem to take notice. There have been three times at various fast food places, and once at a convenience store, that the young men get really excited and mention my GMT. It always makes me smile to see their genuine excitement. The most recent guy said the GMT is his dream watch and that he will have one someday. I really hope that he does. It takes a special kind of person to be able to work in fast food and deal with the masses. Has anyone else met any fast food WIS?

I've had people give me a "nice car" compliment but nothing about the watch so far.

Only place someone commented on my watch was in Nordstroms when I was getting fitted for a pair of slacks and a jacket. A couple of the guys there who were helping me complimented me on my watch.

Probably due to you sticking that wrist out the window to pay. "In their faces," without necessarily meaning to be.

Totally agree with that. Just nice to see young men who enjoy watches these days.

I've ran into a convenience store WIS once. That was in an iffy area of Gilroy. I had my Sub on so I didn't stick around too long to talk.

Rolexes are oftentimes more noticeable/recognizable at upscale bars. For some reason, certain bartenders and female patrons tend to take notice. It's usually the Subs/GMTs/Daytonas/TT DJs that attract their visual 'radar'. On the other hand, Explorers (both I and II) frequently get overlooked.

Whether this is a good/bad sign probably depends on one's individual perspectives and outlook on life. As for the 'fast-food' ID, I rarely venture there (except for maybe a once yearly In & Out foray) and to date, no one has ever taken note of the watch I was wearing.

I rarely get comments on my watches, but lots of people say to me "Nice car." I drive a Crown Vic with white wall tires, so I don't think they are very sincere.

Someone working at a food truck when I was attending the Osheaga Music Festival told me "nice AP you're wearing" as I was picking up my food. Along similar lines, I've also been told I was wearing a "nice AP" by a cashier at Lululemon and once at a high-end furniture shop.

I drive a Mercedes E550 Coupe. Although, today I rode my motorcycle to work.

I've never taken the motorcycle through a drive through but I do get compliments on it from time to time.

What is odd yo me is that over the years I have worn SS Subs, Two tone Subs, SS Daytona, Gold Presidential and a SS AirKing.

Only other Rolex wearers have commented on every watch but the AirKing.

An astounding amount of women have complimented me on the SS AirKing.

Same here! It's nice to see the younger generation (or anyone really) so motivated and setting goals they're working towards. It happens once in a while but typically catches me off guard. The most recent time was at a local retail store. Very similar to what you described, the excitement he expressed seeing this watch reminded me of when I was younger and working towards my goal too.

We don't drive on the wrong side here, we drive on the right side , and I wear my watch on my left wrist, so no one at drive thru will ever notice it

My biggest (and only) fan is the young man at the gas station. He seems to know all my watches. I think he deserves a Christmas tip for his efforts boosting my ego every week.

The sales associate at Verizon complimented me on my Milgauss. He was wearing a Tag and saving for a DJ41. It was refreshing to see an early 20s gent into watches.
