When visiting my AD yesterday he said that Patek is doing all they can to limit modifications. Even if they are original parts from the company.

I for one would like the newer one, but don't really have any issues with the current either.

PP tends to like originality but i’m sure your AD can find out very quickly if it is possible to order.

Unlikely, plus it would be expensive I'm sure.

I never had an issue with the 5167 clasp, owned two in the past.

What’s different about the new one vs, say the one on the 5167 from a year ago (other than being WG)?

The only difference i believe is where the clasp closes. It appears to be slightly different, could be tighter to stop the clasp not aligning correctly. Other than that and a design change in the hollowed section, looks the same.

The new deployment clasp it look nice and open nicely then the old clasp no doubt about it......

But there is a lot of moving parts and parts such as springs, screws, release buttons.....

Prefer the old 1 piece clasp because it solid and maybe less maintenance in the long run......

And while we’re at it: the new Rolex clasp tech is overkill. Too heavy and solid frankly. Much prefer their tinny stamped clasps.

Could anyone confirm if the new buckle can be ordered if the watch came with the older one?

when did they adjust this as my 5167a has this from 2021? You can certainly order a new buckle.

I am able to order it through my AD but I am very close with the watch maker which might be why

I tried to order the “new” clasp for my 5164A a month ago from a local AD. The clasp that came in after a month of waiting was the same one that came on my 2018…I politely declined purchase of it and asked again if they could order the “new” style clasp because mine sometimes pops open when wearing. Two more weeks passed before my AD called me to say that Geneva sent them an email stating that my watch is not eligible to order the “new” clasp because it did not come with it as OEM. How ridiculous is that…can’t even buy a clasp because it didn’t come with it originally. I don’t see any logical reason for this and it has definitely turned me off from the brand and how it treats its loyal customers. I’ll start spending my $$$ with A Lange & Sohne…they have much better finishing in my opinion anyway…so Patek!

I appreciate your frustration. Did they explain the logic? Something to do with warranty?

Unfortunately you need connection in order to get the new deployant buckle... To ensure you will not flip them for a profit....

Just like the color strap such as... The green Khaki, the Singapore red and the blue 5650G....

I don't blame Patek and understand why Patek has stopped selling those parts because people flipping them for a profit.....

https://www.chrono24.com/patekphilip...60959.htm#gref

...^^^....Example.... There one for sale on the secondary market for $3,786 + $108 for shipping....^^^... I'm not affiliated with the seller in anyway)

I've never had an issue with my strap or deployant clasp in 15 years.
I would think of other things to spend money on.

I can understand the flipping aspect of not selling it to someone but my AD has ordered me the blue strap for my 5164A with no issue - I have not flipped it and wear it on my watch all the time. I actually want the clasp to help with my OEM clasp popping open by accident - I have had this happen at least a half a dozen times. I explained this to my AD as my reason for expressing interest in purchasing the new clasp. Don’t mean to rant but it is frustrating. I would go to another AD but we only have one in our state. If anyone has a suggestion on how or where to buy one I would appreciate the help.

I believe its possible the problem is with your AD and not Patek, my AD said its not an issue. Iv ordered an extra green strap for my 5168 and even inquired about the new clasp on the 5726 for my 5711 and it seems possible in the near future.

Thank you for the reply...My AD read me an e-mail back from Geneva stating that they would not sell them a clasp. I'll call around and see if I can find another AD to help me. Thanks again!

Try ask for green Khaki strap for 5167 & tell me what your AD say.....
