If grey prices are dropping enough on quite a few models, is there a reason so many places say WoS say you have to buy x of other stuff before you can get a Patek? At some point if the margin drops enough you’d presume it wouldn’t be profitable for people to buy and flip and the stock at these dealers should ease up (just curious)?

The grey price may have dropped but the production is low for a watch like 5740 and as long as there is real user, there will always be a wait. And most likely WOS already have existing customer in line with spend history. Even 1-2 customers are waiting will probably be enough for them to ask for spend history in order to offer someone the watch. 5740 is probably a hard watch to flip. Watches at this price point has a significantly smaller pool of potential buyers.

They originally did trade at MSRP with the secondary, demand was still strong and allocation was hard.
