Considering the Rose Gold Vacheron Openface Traditionelle
I've registered my interest on the white gold model a year back and am still waiting on it. Decided to text the sales associate for updates, and they mentioned theres still no updates, but they have the rose gold version in stock.
On one hand, the white gold model is versatile, but the rose gold looks like an interesting addition to my collection as i dont actually have a rose gold piece so far. Thoughts? Shld i continue waiting for a piece that I'm not sure will ever come? Or settle for a second choice that is not entirely too bad.

Nice! Wear it in good health. I'll be taking a look at the rose gold model tmr just to see how it sits and fits on the wrist.

Yes i know how that feels. Always wanted a BLRO but couldn't get one. Got substitutes after substitutes until i bit the bullet and just went grey. It did make the hobby a little more interesting though.

I am in your camp and generally favor WG and platinum. But there is something about the VC RG in the metal that is just special. I only own 1 RG watch, and it is a VC. Pictures don’t do the pinkish hue justice.

I'm curious if VCs Rose Gold changes color/patina over time? Noticed any changes so far?

The WG is nice, the rose is nice too. Its not a block of gold so its not too 'in your face'... leather strap etc.
The VC RG colour is nice as others have mentioned. I'd describe it as subtle and somewhat classy - EVEN full bracelet. The WG openface is nice, but the its a leather strap watch so its not that much different from the RG. The dial contrast is a little more punchy with the RG i think. I think the hands are slightly different colours etc but this could be a make-up lol. I dont think you can go wrong with the RG openface BUT as many others have said.... if you are always going to be lusting for the WG then just wait... or call up a dealer and see if they will do a swap for the WG if you buy the RG and pay them like 1k usd for their time. That said, this may damage your relationship? Just trying to think of solutions for you! Oh and one thing to add.... I spoke to my Boutique the other day and they actually said they haven't seen any WG openface in about a year (and he's got no reason to make this up since I already own it). So i do genuinely believe they aren't making many of them. |

Thanks for the inputs everyone. Decided to wait for the white gold model. I did went to take a look at the rose gold model and loved the sizing of it on my wrist, so at least i know when the WG comes it will be fine.
My associate was super friendly and professional when i told him about this and he didn't promise anything, but I'm optimistic on my chances.

I have the rose gold. The formula Vacheron makes its rose gold fit my taste the best. It is warm, classy and elegant. I purposely ordered rose gold because I found white gold dial is very too hard to read with the open movement shown in the back and rosegold dial is so much easier with the contrast.
I would hold both side by side and look again. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk |
