ADT Disaster

Just moved into a new home. Had ADT in the old home.

Installed ADT in the new place. Have had to have techs back multiple times due to various faults. Always a 4 hour window. Different faults each time that were unable to be fixed over the phone.

Finally got it all set. Just in time for vacation.

We left today for Turks and Caicos. This evening I check into the app and see it was disarmed this evening. I call ADT. I get endless run around. People that have no idea what’s going on. Or how to help. Could be a glitch. Then, it’s definitely not a glitch. Someone was in my home. Apparently it’s a certainty.

But when I check the app, none of the doors have been opened.

They are calling the police. Police are enroute.

First day of vacation. Uncertainty as to what’s happening in my home.

I genuinely feel that ADT as an entity has their head up their ass. I actually don’t think someone was in my home. But obviously, I’m concerned. Very much so. Maybe someone was.

I hope my safe has held up.

Jeeze. Wtf.

I’m watching the police check the perimeter via the ring app I have in front and back. But I can’t see much of anything.

I’m pretty calm. But super annoyed.

Police just called. Nothing is amiss.

I have to imagine this is an ADT glitch.

I hope anyway. Sheesh. Nothing is ever easy.

I will be doing everything in my power to cancel my contract and install something else.

I’ve had nothing but problems with them.

Yikes! That sucks.
We have ADT and got enrolled into something called ADT Gold. I don’t really know the specifics of what it entails but just made sure it didn’t cost more. Anytime I call i get a representative right away without automation and they call me within 30 seconds of alarm that triggers (all have luckily been false alarms like smoke detector when cooking etc). Overall I’m happy with the service.

Hope this issue is behind you and you enjoy your vacation :)

I would never give those little devils my code. No way.

ADT = About Damn Time

I switched to a private security company and have yet to experience a glitch. They're exponentially cheaper as well. Perhaps you can find one in your area?

some of these "home security" companies take your money and give nothing in return. I feel bad for the cops who get all these false alarms.

ADT Disaster

Sorry you have to deal with this headache. I have Brinks and have been getting constant false alarms. It seems like every other day. I have to check all my cameras, make sure nobody is in the house, then give the rep my disarm code. I’ve pretty much made up my mind to switch to Vivint (a couple friends have them and give high praises).

I have ADT, no issues.

However, I now keep my watches in a bank vault. I specially make point to never leave any watch in my house safe, when I am out on travels.

Worth the headache!

that sucks... especially because i have an ADT install in a couple of weeks and its going to be pretty intensive with lots of cameras and smart integration, so i guess more potential for faults.

Then i am pretty much leaving again for a month or two and expecting the system to actually work.

So. No faults on the doors or windows. But as per ADT someone was in my home disabling my system via the keypad.

Cops found nothing wrong.

I can only wait and hope now that everything is just fine. I imagine it is. Won’t stress over it any longer though. Getting ready to get on a boat and go snorkeling.

What will be, will be.

Me too ty.

Tell you what, if when I get home nothing is indeed wrong, I do feel badly for the manager I get on the phone. Because unless they agree to come and remove the system, and void my contract, it’s not going to be an easy conversation. It has been one problem after the next. And this is the cherry on top.
