Icon20 Advice on purchasing a new 214270 explorer

Hi peeps, I am looking to buy a explorer 214270. Goldsmiths have quoted £4800

Which seems reasonable. I live in Blackpool and welcome any advice. Cheers

There are two 214270 Explorers.

The Explorer 214270-001 is the one with the shorter minute hand and non-lume (white gold) on the 3/6/9.

The Explorer 214270-003, introduced in 2016 has the longer minute hand and has lume on the 3/6/9.

Chees mate 214270 003 is my desire. Is there any outlets cheaper than £4800 ????? Or should I just bite the bullet and go with goldsmiths ?

My out the door price in North Florida this year was just shy of $7000 US, or about 5375 British Pounds (from an AD). Which is Rolex's MSRP for the Explorer. Don't know what you pay in the Value Added Tax there.

Love mine. But I planned years for the purchase, and I did my research. It's a "keeper". My first and only.

Do you think I will rise its value for the future?
I also consider it as my first Rolex.
Cheers and have a great Christmas!

I wouldn’t bank on values rising for these. If you’re buying, make sure it’s a watch you really want. Other than very specific pieces, watches in general don’t make great investments.

How are you liking your Rolex Explorer? I am still on the fence about it. Not sure if to go with Explorer or no Date Sub.

The Exp1 is a fantastic watch - it would make a perfect every day watch for almost anyone.
