You’re so lucky as both look great on you.

All things being equal, I’d save the money and go classic 36

Too much bling for me. 200 plus gym of 18k gold does the job on its own without the addition of diamonds. Different story for women. That said, after I tried on YG and Everose, the choice was simple. Much prefer RG.

Important to get what YOU really like but I think the 36 looks best on you.

My speedy reduced wears more like ~38 and AP RO 37mm more like 39-40 due to integrated bracelet. Remainder of collection consists of 42mm panerai, 5 digit tritium sub and Tudor BB in house (probably will end up moving this piece). Some pics attached for reference

I do not dress formally very often from a lifestyle standpoint.
i don't think the 36 will be underwhelming once you start wearing it. the president bracelet has a lot of presence on its own. you can pull off both but it just depends what look you're going for since the 40 will be a lot more in your face

I think the 40 is too big on your wrist. I have a 7 1/4 inch rest and the 36 still looks great and I can carry the 40 as well. I think your wrist is too small for the 40. Just my opinion.

The 36 is better suited to your wrist size.

I vote for the 40. For a few reasons. I had a 36mm and felt it was to small (our wrists are close in size). I traded the 36mm and ended up with a 41mm. Now I want a 40mm since they stopped making the 41mm.

Just go all out and get the 40mm. If your initial feeling was underwhelming with the 36mm it wont change and if you buy it your mind will always ask "what if" I bought the 40mm.

Just suck it up and spend the $$$

Go with your gut. I like the 40mm watch on you, but the 36mm doesn't look AT ALL small or incorrect or out of place. That said, I know how you feel. I just can't get comfortable with a watch that small when I'm used to 40-41mm divers. I'd go with what will be more wearable more days of the year for you.

Sure do. I'll likely keep it forever. That's why I want the 40 to wear more often.

I think like 90% of people in the comments that the 36 looks better without a question, I have the same wrist size and my 36mm datejust fits perfectly, I've tried on the 40 and it doesn't fit right

If you consider DD as a dress watch, then smaller looks more elegant. If you consider it as a sport watch, bigger looks more sporty.

Based on the pics, I think the 36 “fits” you better. However, close wrist shots can be misleading. You need to pick whichever one makes you feel more like a big swinging stud while wearing.

The 36 looks better. But who knows, Rolex might release a 38 in the future which could be a sweet spot for many who are in between

All 36 owners say 36 but that watch really shines as 40. My wife wears 36 and to me in the flesh it’s a small watch for a man. Pics are very deceiving when it comes to watch size.

You can pull either size. When i was making similar decision, i went with DD 40. More updated and current. More sporty. My grandpa wears dd36

Thirty-6 to my eye appears better proportioned to your wrist. You won't make a wrong choice. Make a decision, get the watch and allow yourself to enjoy it without any second thoughts.

I think the 36mm looks better on your wrist. The 40mm isn't too big on your wrist, but I think for this particular watch the 36mm looks better for your wrist size.

This is a big purchase. Do whatever makes you happy. Neither is a bad decision!
