If you need a new motor, RSC is pretty much the only game in town.

See if you can convince them to let you keep the original hands.

If a 'watchmaker' tells you they will replace the motor without servicing the watch; walk away from them.

RSC "necessary" service ??

One of the things about an indie watchmaker working on the OQ is the parts accounts contract dictates his/her ordering allowances.

If one does not hold a Rolex training certification for a certain model, he/she can not order parts for it.

Searching for a watchmaker to do the service + motor replacement should include a question about sourcing a new motor (or already having one in their inventory).

If you aren’t selling the watch later - I’d say have the hands replaced and let RSC do the work. If, after a while, you don’t like the look, you could look for a dial independently. But it would be a 2- year wait if you don’t want to void the RSC warranty.

Remember, you’ll be getting LumiNova hands, so RSC dial swap could be a good idea now. The price for it won’t be lower later.
