Dating 9315 and USA Oval Link Jubilee Bracelets
I bought my 1016 Explorer new in 1967 ($187) and have used it on and off all these years. I know it came with a riveted bracelet because I still have one of its unused links removed at fitting. Many years ago I bought a 9315 with 380 end links that's on it now marked "Patented & Registered", "Patented" spelled correctly on the diver's extension. I also wore it with a USA oval link Jubilee bracelet with no number markings other than 50 on one end link ear.
Any help with approximate dates would be much appreciated. David |

Generally speaking none of the USA oval link Jubilees had a date code. I've owned and seen many of these through the years and during that time, I've seen very few, maybe two or three, that appeared to have a number stamping, either one digit of two digits, on a clasp blade where the two blades are pinned together. It could have very well been a date code but I've seen so few of them that I can not recall more details.
Normally, there is no date code on USA Jubilees. If you find an end link with a stamped number, it is always on the left ear and probably from the 1960s.

Thanks for reply on the Jubilee. So I may have replaced the 7206 with the Jubilee 1st and then followed with the 9315. I read your detailed 9315 post in the Reference Library and note it was from a 1971 Submariner. My bracelet is identical except that "Patented" on the diver's link is spelled correctly so I assume later. Any idea of its possible date range?

You guys got me to look at the Jubilee again and it is marked 8-70 so it looks like August, 1970. Sherbie - based on mine you 3-71 may be March, 1971.
