Datejust II Legit check

Just got this in trade for some gear I was selling online.

2011 Datejust II, has box and papers, warranty card, etc

Also do you think this been polished? I imagined the fluted bezel to be sharper that it is...watch is also 12 years old.

Wondering if i should keep this...

That bezel has had the absolute wiener polished off it.

That’s what I thought! But most of the Datejust ii I see online don’t look as crisp as the 41 bezel. Could it just be from wear? The rest of the watch doesn’t appear to be over polished.

Was this "touched up" with a Dremel or something?

I would refuse the trade/deal.. get the Dj41 reference you really want, and peace of mind with new warranty 5 years.

LOL, this is my assessment as well - not worth $7k (or anything close to it)

If you want the DJ 41, I'd recommend you get that. The condition of the above watch would bother me, particularly if its not even the watch I originally wanted.

Does not look good at all and the bezel in mangled. I'd pass.

She's in really rough shape, and if it has been incorrectly polished RSC won't service / warranty it.

Hard pass.

I expect it's done a stellar job as a daily beater but as a trade in worth 7k? I wouldn't.

As others have said, Hard pass.

“Do you think this has been polished?”

I’d like to know the history; who got their hands on it, what did they do and what were they thinking!?!?

That’s a definite no and I’m guessing the person doing the trade knows at that price it’s way over on what it’s worth in that condition

If you're planning to keep the watch, I'd suggest sending to RSC for a service and get the bezel replaced completely. I have a DJ from the '60s (my wife's) and the bezel is nowhere near that polished...wow!
