Thoughts on this piece? Any red flags?

Found in a pawn shop for just over £5k. No box or papers but a highstreet chain of shops rather than a backstreet dealer.

Dial font looks newer than ones I see on Chrono24 and it's going to need a polish to get the case and bracelet back to AP standards.

It's a quartz, and I am tempted as a cheap dress watch to be honest.

This would be a very strange size and year to fake. Not saying it can’t happen, but it’s not a big enough money maker. Cool watch!

Not much of an AP expert but the date font looks nothing like the ones I'm accustomed seeing on the 15400 and 15202. Did you get the watch verified?

Definitely not the same font as on the models you mention but serial here dates the watch to late 1990s. It looks like there are a lot of different fonts on these date wheels (I guess service items over the years).

I only picked it up yesterday but plan to get it looked at by a more experienced eye soon.
