There must be some level of modification/additional work on the base movement, as the VC has the big date vs the 4:30 date on the AP. Other than that, I have no idea how they differ though to be honest :)
Indeed, but that’s a relatively simple modification, achieved by replacing date wheel (part 91.440.06.FP01) and the date retaining bridge (part 13.105) with one that has a separate wheel for tens. There may be some more to it, but if my recollection is correct that’s relatively minor surgery. I’m not sure to be honest if you can get that directly from Blancpain or whether Vacheron does it in house, but suspect the former, as the mechanism used for the big date on the “VC” 1137 is very similar to the one Blancpain uses for their Leman watches.

This watch is becoming hard to get. The Dubai boutique stopped taking deposits for it. You have to become a regular client in order to get one allocated to you.
This and the chocolate version of the 4500v are the most beautiful in the collection. Congratulations.

I have heard rumors that most Overseas are headed towards waits or “bundle” pieces. At least for the 3-hander, Chrono, and Dual Time.

If you’re interested in one of these, I’d definitely move now. Seems like VC is making moves to cash in on their moment. I can’t blame them...If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!

True.
Plus on some models (blue dial and gold) there are not taking any deposits. Out of time!

This looks fantastic.

Strange the blue 3 hander is going for ~$5k more than the blue 7900v travel time

I think it's because the thickness to diameter ratio is good. The other models are nice but make the bezel stand taller as well. Also, that plain dial really showcases that blue in its full glory!

Yeah I don’t get it. I find the Dual Time a super useful complication but I guess there’s something to be said about the clean look of the 3-hander.

Anyway so far I’m smitten with mine…I’ve worn it every day since I got it. I truly can’t believe these have lacked in popularity.

I think it will be like what happened previously with AP RO and Patek nautilus, the simple dial start to rise first then it will followed by the other complications

All the blue dials are getting waiting lists. They stopped taking deposits for the blue 4500v. The ultra thin perpetual calendar blue dial takes a year at least, and thats assuming you are a regular customer and have paid a deposit. The skeleton perpetuals will keep you waiting a few years, and thats also assuming you are a regular customer and have paid a deposit.
Looks like The overseas collection is going to catch up with its trinity competitors.

This is exactly why I went for the 3 hander. I really wanted the dual time from seeing photos, both marketing and wrist shots, but I preferred the fit of the three hander. I think the dual time shows off the blue plenty for me, although the simpler watch edges it a little. The chrono however loses some of the appeal of the deep blue dial IMHO with the sundials, as well as being a little larger again.

All great watches though in their own ways.

I would love to have 4500V blue dial with rose gold bracelet, I like the look of the clean dial.

It seems like AD stops taking order this year for the blue dial, hope it will be available again next year.
