I honestly don’t know if demand really is that high, or if games are being played to keep the shortage artificial. Rolex is about scarcity. But making 1M watches a year doesn’t exactly fit with the scarcity card. Many people buy them because they know/speculate that those pieces won’t drop in value. This is what scarcity of an object does. So if making a million watches doesn’t fit the vision of scarcity, there’s got to be something else going on and not just high demand.

If it is true that the market has softened, and folks are being offered watches more easily, then it is likely that ADs do sell to grey and/or sell it to flippers. That fits the narrative of no inventory and higher prices.

hello everyone

No matter where you from, if you visit an AD, they are all the same. Some information is correct. Rolex give AD certain amounts of watches randomly per month, ADs are not the one who can control what they can have. Basically ADs are like servants compared to Rolex as the big master. Some time they will have professional models, but most of the time they dont... Therefore, they definitely will get most profit from the hot watches like gmt sub and daytona, these are the watches they dont see them often...they will reserve these watches to the big consumers. most of them probs are grey dealers. its sad but true.

which means even the grey dealers in the market, they spends tons of money on other staff the ADs sell like other brands' watches or jewellery. thats why the grey market price of rolex professional models are so high.
rolex just like hermes in terms of watches to be honest.

so if you still on the so called waitlist for a hot model, just give up and turn to grey market. you will never get a hot one from AD, if you dont have tons of shopping history. thats my advice.

Likewise the AD's do not care what the purchaser does with the watch once sold.
So true, for ADs, at the end of day, money is way better than reputation. For rolex, the demand of their watches is still very high, no one could touch them for a very long time. All Rolex wants are high attention and they are getting it.

and even if rolex is not happy with how one AD does things, rolex just give them fewer professional models for punishment. for rolex, controlling ADs just like piece of cake.
