Motoring in Saudi Arabia
To find out what it's like today, I suggest you do a search on youtube, there's some interesting footage. Here are a couple of pictures my wife took from the passenger seat of our 4X4 as we were traveling across Saudi Arabia from the east to northwest. It was in May 2000 and was quite a journey. The fully loaded car was traveling to Jordan and was just as packed inside as outside with just enough room for the driver.
This is how most of the camels are transported. I think there are three in the back of this pickup. The block and tackle is used to get them on and off.

Get a strong cross-wise gust of wind and that top heavy SW will be history.
