Breitling Superocean II 42 - any owners?

I really like the look of this watch, and since it is slightly less expensive than popular divers like the Omega Seamaster and Tudor Pelagos, I'm surprised at how few reviews I can find about it.

I would love to hear what you guys think about this watch. Thanks

I just purchased one last Saturday. I have the black dial on rubber Breitling strap with deployment buckle. I really like the watch! not sure why it's not to popular. I've read it's because the dial is to busy although it does seem busy, I can easily read the time. I even set it on the counter and I could tell the time from 15ft I'm amazed at how the numbers just POP out it's the most legible watch I own or have owned.

I'm an owner, love it. I had it on the Professional 3 bracelet but it was too shiny, switched to a Pro Diver 3, the blue matches the blue bezel perfectly. great watched, picked mine up used for $2400, punches above its weight in quality.

I had one and regret selling, I had the ABYSS. I now have the older version, the A17360 but am currently in the market for another ABYSS, I had the one with the red trim, this time going all black. I felt I outgrew the red stripe and want a more classic look.

The wife just bought one today. One day in all I can say is that it is one gorgeous piece. With the Tudor chronometer movement on board what's not to love?

I have one with the yellow around the bezel. I have the black and yellow leather strap and Breitling black rubber strap. It's a great watch and I normally wear it on the weekend's or if I'm on holiday in the sea etc.

It has a mega deep rating something like 5000ft!

I would say get one!!

It is the next watch I am going to get and I have always bought Rolex. It will be my first Breitling. I think it is a gorgeous piece.

Tudor? No way, no how. The dials and hands and well--they look goofy.

I am thinking of getting a new SO Heritage II 42mm with a black dial on a leather strap. For those that have one, please let me know how thick it is and how comfortable it sits on your wrist. Picture(s) will be appreciated.

I ordered that exact watch from my AD. Its gorgeous! Plus I had the folding clasp order vs the tang. Much better in my opinion!

The strap is not too thick, just right IMO. I only tried it on at my AD, still sitting in the travel case/box!

PM me, I'll be happy send you photos. The forums won't let me post photos yet. Been cruising on here for 5yrs now, but just became a pledge.

I like the avenger series a bit better. they go super deep too like 10000' for the seawolf avenger II and 300m for the GMT Avenger II... I think you can get a tudor movement in the SO heritage, that might just be the transocean? not sure.

I just ordered the 42mm version (blue) on shark mesh. The AD had a 46mm in stock, but I felt like it was just a tad too big for me. I probably would have gotten used to it, but I decided to order the 42 and will wait 3-4 weeks for it to ship in from Breitling.

Sad story - I had the AD ship in a blue 42mm version from another store about a month or so back. I tried it on and loved it, but had a few other watches that were in the running, so I held off. When I went back in today to pull the trigger, I learned that the blue 42mm which they had shipped in at my request had been stolen about 2 weeks back. Bummer for sure, but nevertheless, it will be great to get this on the wrist in a few weeks!

The 42 is a perfect size. To my eyes, wears about the same as my Bluesey. I have the blue bezel with silver dial. I bought it with the SS band. A real looker.

Quit posting pictures of the silver dial - you're making me second guess my decision on the blue dial!

Seriously though - beautiful piece! I also hope to one day acquire a Bluesy. We must have very similar tastes! Very good taste, in my humble opinion

👍

That blue dial was tied with the silver. I was so torn between the two I frankly swear I tossed a coin. Silver won.

I think the silver dial has been discontinued. No longer on updated website. Now they have a 42, 44 and 46.

I truly love it.
Silver dial lasted only less than a year.
Seems now discontinued.

Thank you, I do.
What an incredible watch with in house part Tudor movement at a great price point.
As much as it is a diver, it can pass for dressy as well.
